UK Court Listings

Privacy policy

Last updated 4 October 2026

This policy explains how UK Court Listings ("we", "us") handles personal data. We keep data collection to a minimum: there are no accounts, and we do not set tracking cookies.

Who is responsible

The operator of this website is the data controller. You can contact us through the contact page.

Court list information

We republish information from official HMCTS hearing lists: time, courtroom, case reference, hearing type and, where the official list gives it, the offence description. We do not store or display defendants' first names, titles, ages, dates of birth or addresses. Where the official Crown Court list gives a readable surname and no reporting restriction applies, we store and show the surname only, as ****** SURNAME; you cannot search by name. We leave out free-text notes, apart from a short fixed set of generic phrases such as “All parties via CVP”, and we leave out youth and restricted entries. Hearing information is kept only for the current and next sitting days and is deleted automatically once the date has passed. You can ask us to hide a case reference using the removal request page.

We do not set cookies ourselves and do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary security cookies, and Google may set cookies if you load a map.

Why we process data

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: providing free public-interest information about open justice and running a secure website. When you email us we process your message to respond to you.

Where data is kept

We configure our database to store hearing information in a European data centre region. Our hosting provider operates globally and may process technical data in other countries under appropriate safeguards.

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, and object to our processing. Contact us using the contact page. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

We will update this page if how we handle data changes, and change the date above.
