Questions people ask

Where can I find court hearing lists for England and Wales?

Official lists are published by HMCTS on the Court and Tribunal Hearings service. On this site, open any court page to see its list and a link to the official version, or search every list at once by case reference.

Can I search by a person’s name?

No. You can only search by case reference (URN), which is on your court paperwork. We never show or store first names, and defendants appear as ****** SURNAME where the list gives one.

Is this the official court list?

No. We republish information from the official HMCTS service with its source and update time. Lists change at short notice, so always check the official list before you travel.

How often are the lists updated?

We check each court regularly through the day. Every list shows when HMCTS last updated it and when we last checked.

Do I have to attend if I cannot find my case on a list?

Yes, unless the court or your solicitor tells you otherwise. Not being listed online does not mean you do not have to attend. See our guide on why a case may not appear.
